Looking for a highly motivated individual to fulfill an opening as an Engineer in our Supplier Quality organization with specific focus on Mechanical and Electrical supplier commodities. Candidates should possess experience in Supplier Management, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Root Cause and Corrective Action, Continuous Improvement, Data Analysis, Specification Review, Inspection Methods, and a general understanding of GD&T as well as Project Management. Candidates must have solid communication, organizational and time management skills and an overall strong quality focus. They must be able to work within cross-functional teams to meet and improve upon established quality and delivery goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Improve supplier quality performance by analyzing performance data, identifying opportunities for improvement and coordinating actions on supplier development
  • Respond to supplied material defect occurrences and verification of supplied material defect claims with goal of proactive reduction and prevention
  • Participate in cross-functional teams in pursuit of performance improvements aligned to department and organizational goals
  • Preventing/Minimizing business impact from supplied material defects; supplier quality risk mitigation
  • Submitting and reviewing supplier corrective action requests
  • Engage suppliers for quality improvements including on-site supplier engagements and process walks.
  • Develop audit certification skills to perform Quality System audits.
  • Develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation
  • Provide project management support to projects and processes
  • Develop independent judgment methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Execution of supplied material performance organizational strategies and development / enhancement of Supplier Quality standard work
  • 25% Travel on average
  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required
  • Qualifications:

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Person
  • Candidates for this role should possess a STEM Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience or a STEM Advanced degree with prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with manufactured products incorporating mechanical and electrical commodities
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AS9100 or ISO9000, Quality Management System (QMS) standards
  • Supplier Management and Project Management experience
  • Competence in conducting root cause analysis for simple to moderate nonconformities and implementation of effective corrective action
  • Experience with continuous improvement tools including Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, etc.
  • Experience in conducting internal or external audits
  • Solid interpersonal skills - ability to communicate and influence at all levels within an organization
  • Solid presentation skills - able to analyze, prepare, and deliver presentations to leadership
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
